Introduction

The Christmas Day Dinner, hosted annually by The Knights of St. Columbanus at the RDS, is open and welcoming to all guests in need of our support. To provide a festive meal to each of our 550 guests on Christmas Day, and to distribute a further 5,500 meals to individuals in their homes, we are heavily dependent on financial support from private benefactors and the public.

The cost to provide a meal per guest has significantly increased over the past few years because of inflation and the economic crisis. As we’re not prepared to compromise the quality of the meals and service we provide to our guests in need, we’ve had to absorb increased costs of approximately 60% in the past two years alone.

Q. How can I make a financial donation to support the Christmas Day Dinner appeal?

A. Yes, all funds received will go directly to the Christmas Day Dinner Appeal, subject to any financial charges that the fundraising platform imposes for providing the service. All funds received will help to support the full setup and delivery of the Christmas Day Dinner in the RDS and ensuring 5,500 meals are served to all those in need, including gifts from Santa Claus to our young children that attend.
