Volunteer registration has now closed for the 2024 Christmas Day Dinner

The organising committee for the Christmas Day Dinner are sorry to announce that Volunteer registration has now closed.

Registration opens annually on 1 October until capacity is reached.

If you have already registered to volunteer with us, we will be writing to you shortly with further details of the event, including the mandatory health & safety briefing and allocation of Tasks which this year will be held in Ely House on Sunday, December 1st.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION OPENS ON OCTOBER 1 EACH YEAR

Each year the Organising Committee receives receive an overwhelming response from members of the public who wish to attend the Christmas Day Dinner annual event as a volunteer. It is not possible to accommodate everyone who would like to volunteer

We are only too aware of the disappointment that this may present, but concern for health and safety, and the comfort of our guests on Christmas Day is our priority. If you’ve missed out on a place this year, we can only suggest that you set a reminder in your diary to register on 1 October next year.

Attendance at the health and safety briefing on the 1st Sunday of December is mandatory for all volunteers. A discussion of the tasks which need to be completed and their allocation to volunteers will form a major part of this induction. You’ll be issued with a Volunteer Registration Card, outlining the task assigned to you and the start/end times for the task. This is your Entry Card for the RDS on Christmas Day. If you are not able to attend the Induction Session, we will not be able to provide you with a Volunteer Registration Card and, unfortunately, you will not be able to volunteer for this year’s dinner
